THE OLYMPICS!!

Love them or hate them the Olympics have Britain in a strangle hold at the moment, and you know what? I love them. Absolutely.
I'm not a hugely sporty person but I have a massive competitive streak inside me that goes berserk at the atmosphere of the games and urging our athletes on.

The highlights for me so far?

- Jessica Ennis winning Gold in the Heptathlon. Truly an inspirational athlete, she had a lot of pressure on her shoulders being the poster girl of the games but kept her cool and came out on top. I'm in the process of developing a serious girl crush as you might be able to tell.

- The cycling.
Really?
Yes, really.

If you know me, you'll know my taste for sports that other people tend to find as interesting as watching paint dry (think snooker, F1 etc) and my love for cycling is no different. I've watched the Tour de France for a few years now and seeing Bradley Wiggins win it with Chris Froome in second made me a lot more interested in events in the Velodrome than I would normally be.
British cycling is certainly on fire this summer with medals coming left, right and centre. Wouldn't mind hoping on a bike myself after all this...

- Big Ben v The Great Dane.

(Sailing, for people who haven't been watching)
I get caught up in the competition more than the actual sport, and seeing Ben Ainslie come out on top against his nemesis Hogh-Christensen from Denmark had me please as punch.

- Usain Bolt.
He won. Again. 'Nuff said.

So, love them or hate them? Have they inspired a generation as they promised? Not sure, but they've certainly kept me entertained.
