Reorganisation

Right. So basically, my blog is reaching a bit of a crossroads. I still want to carry on beauty blogging and haul photos and stuff, but I also want a place where I can be slightly more creative with my posts.

So - this blog "OohAnnaah" is going to be strictly beauty / fashion related.

I've created another blog, which will be my personal one, which will have...

-things that made my week a good one
- what I'm looking forward to
-any other personal posts

If anyone would like the link to that, I'll be happy to give it :)

Don't worry, I'll still be posting on here, but anyone wanting insights into the world of Anna will need to hop over to the other page :)

ELF Nail Polish Review - Mint Cream

This is one of the nail varnishes I bought in my first ELF haul. Most of the products I bought from ELF were great and I had no problems with. The nail polishes on the other hand...

I'll admit, Mango Madness is amazing, I love that polish. Punk Purple had a layer of white at the bottom, while Mint Cream and Lilac leave a lot to be desired.

First off - I love the colours. Both Lilac and Mint Cream are beautiful pastels, perfect for spring / summer, but I'm afraid the pros stop there.

When applying, the colour is weak and not very pigmented, and if you happen to go over the same spot twice while painting your nail, the colour comes straight off again, something that shouldn't happen and hasn't happened with a decent varnish.
Secondly, one coat for a nail varnish is good, two is OK, but when you need to apply three coats before you get a solid, opaque colour, that is serious uncool.

Another thing that bugs the hell out of my with both Mint Cream and Lilac is the fact that they just don't dry. Even Mango Madness had a little of this problem but you couldn't see it because the colour was so vibrant. Even if I left a good 15 minutes in between applying coats, and sat for another half hour after applying a top coat, the colour still ... dented.
As in, I'd touch my nail and leave a finger print, or when I woke up in the morning (after applying the colour the afternoon before) I found imprints of my hair, or the sheet, or some type of fabric imprinted on my nails.
They seem to stay, sort of, tacky for ages, looking like they're dry, but will actually smudge and move for freakin' years after applying. I will admit that if you look at them from a distance, the colour is nice (they look quite pretty in the photo) and you can't see all the flaws, but they shouldn't be happening in the first place.

I hoped it was just me screwing it up, but I've tried this several times now and have had the same problem. Sadly, it looks like a case of "you get what you pay for". I didn't pay much (the only consolation) and I didn't get much in return, which is a shame, 'cause I really wanted to love these nail polishes :(
