Geometric Jewellery

There's a large part of me that never left my little emo / punk stage that I went through in my youth and I think my obsession with the jewellery here is just the.. sophisticated evolution of that phase, if you will, the nod of recognition to my younger, khol-eyed self.

The little studs are from H&M and I love the way they tip their hat to the trend without being full on dangerous.

The luuuurvly dangling ones on the left are from Topshop. Slightly more... eyecatching / statement making than I'd normally go for, but I love pearls, I love gold and I love the triangle style that a lot of jewellery has taken on recently - so these are clearly the earrings for me.

The black and gold diamond shaped ones are also from Topshop and, again, they're a little more eye-catching than I normally go for but I love how bold they are with a fair amount of classiness and sophistication thrown in, so in the shopping bag they went!

What's your favourite jewellery trend at the moment?

THE OLYMPICS!!

Love them or hate them the Olympics have Britain in a strangle hold at the moment, and you know what? I love them. Absolutely.
I'm not a hugely sporty person but I have a massive competitive streak inside me that goes berserk at the atmosphere of the games and urging our athletes on.

The highlights for me so far?

- Jessica Ennis winning Gold in the Heptathlon. Truly an inspirational athlete, she had a lot of pressure on her shoulders being the poster girl of the games but kept her cool and came out on top. I'm in the process of developing a serious girl crush as you might be able to tell.

- The cycling.
Really?
Yes, really.

If you know me, you'll know my taste for sports that other people tend to find as interesting as watching paint dry (think snooker, F1 etc) and my love for cycling is no different. I've watched the Tour de France for a few years now and seeing Bradley Wiggins win it with Chris Froome in second made me a lot more interested in events in the Velodrome than I would normally be.
British cycling is certainly on fire this summer with medals coming left, right and centre. Wouldn't mind hoping on a bike myself after all this...

- Big Ben v The Great Dane.

(Sailing, for people who haven't been watching)
I get caught up in the competition more than the actual sport, and seeing Ben Ainslie come out on top against his nemesis Hogh-Christensen from Denmark had me please as punch.

- Usain Bolt.
He won. Again. 'Nuff said.

So, love them or hate them? Have they inspired a generation as they promised? Not sure, but they've certainly kept me entertained.

Crackle & Glitter

A few quick pics of an upcoming nail tutorial I just finished filming :)

I used:

- 17 Lasting Fix Nail Polish in Mini Skirt
- Barry M Crackle Polish in Black
- Rimmel London Lasting Finish in Your Majesty

I used a nail art display wheel I bought from ebay to do the design on; it's easier and quicker than doing it on my own nails, and I'd only just finished painting them anyway!

The full tutorial will be on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL very soon :)

My Top Tip for today is...

Do your make up in the kind of light you'll be spending time in

Daytime make up should be done in natural light, while night time make up should be done in dimmer light because you'll need to make your features stand out more.

The final ( for now ) of my planned new adventures for this blog.

This space is reserved for my opinion on anything going that takes my fancy...

Expect to see my opinions on...

- the latest style and beauty trends
- celebrity styles
- .... well, anything really!

And do feel free to chip in with your opinions in the comments ;)

And the new things keep on coming!

I don't think I'll have any problems at all updating this regularly.

This will be a snapshot into all the many things that are on my wishlist, whether I'm just lusting after them even though they will never be mine ( *sob* ), intent to purchase them and can't wait, or whether I'm so happy with  something I have that I need to share it with the world.

These entries will be a super quick look at whatever it is, but I'm sure if I love something that much I'll do an in depth review on it.

Ooh, can't wait for all the new exciting things to start   ^_^

The second of my new projects for this year, "FLASH Fashion" aims to give you the latest fashions and styles in easy to read bite size chunks.

I'll be doing my best to update this regularly, and if anyone has any suggestions,  please get in touch... This blog is for you, so I want to cover the things you want to see, so if there's a trend I've missed out on, feel free to point it out ;)
